Rushing, Never Ending

I can't sleep

A fire at my feet

Never ends

Drink in me

Helping me to see

That I've begun

A game that no one can complete

A deadline I will never meet

My friend

Would you sit with me?

Always rushing

Never ending

In my dreams

A child never seen

Haunts my head

Question me

Would somebody please

Go ahead

Let me know you're here

Always rushing

Never ending

Always rushing never ending

Never here always becoming

Always rushing always running

A dog biting at my heels, a mob chasing me, eyes on my back while I stand in a garden belonging to no one. The wind blows; I am not fast enough - paint dries; I am too slow. Should I tell a child he is nothing? Should I make an empty, hollow, worthless being out of who stands before me; my friend, my neighbor, myself? Trapped in a riptide of failure and judgement never ending, always drowning, culminating conveniently only at the end of all things. I am never enough, always condemned, never complete, never rested, never truly loved

Always rushing

Never ending

Always rushing never ending

Never here always becoming

Always rushing always running

Always rushing never ending

Never here always becoming

Always rushing always running

Always running

Always running
